B.Des – Game Design: A 4-year full-time programme focused on game development concepts, game mechanics, storytelling, character and environment design, interactive experiences, game engines and emerging gaming technologies.

B.Des – Animation & VFX Design: Covers animation, visual storytelling, character development, 2D/3D techniques, VFX, motion and digital production for film, entertainment and interactive media.

B.Des – Graphics & Communication Design: Focuses on graphic design, visual communication, branding, typography, illustration, digital media, storytelling and communication strategy.

B.Des – User Experience & Interaction Design: Develops skills in user research, interaction design, UI/UX, information architecture, prototyping, usability and human-centred digital experiences.

B.Des – Industrial & Product Design: Focuses on product ideation, design research, materials, prototyping, manufacturing, ergonomics and user-centred product development.

B.Des – Mobility & Vehicle Design: Covers transportation and mobility design, vehicle form development, future mobility concepts, visualization, modelling and user experience.

B.Des – Interior & Retail Space Design: Focuses on interior environments, spatial planning, retail experiences, materials, furniture, lighting and human interaction with spaces.

M.Des – Product Design: An advanced postgraduate design programme focusing on product innovation, research, prototyping, materials and strategic design practice.

M.Des – Communication Design: Advanced study of visual communication, branding, digital design, storytelling and communication systems.

M.Des – Mobility & Vehicle Design: Focuses on advanced mobility concepts, transportation systems, vehicle design and future-oriented mobility solutions.

M.Des – Interaction Design: Covers user-centred digital products, interfaces, interaction systems, usability, emerging technologies and experience design. UPES currently identifies these four M.Des specialisations.

Course Eligibility

B.Des:

• Minimum 50% marks in Class X and XII
• Any stream
• Admission through UPESDAT or eligible national-level examination/alternative pathway
• NID/NIFT/UCEED/JEE Main/Board Merit/CUET pathways may be considered as specified by UPES
• Portfolio Presentation and Interview may be required.

M.Des:

• Minimum 50% in Class X and XII
• Minimum 50% in bachelor's degree in any stream
• B.Des/B.Arch/B.Tech/BFA graduates are preferred
• Valid CEED/NID/NIFT score or UPESDAT
• Portfolio Presentation and Interview.

Ph.D. Design:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification as prescribed by UPES/UGC
• Admission through the university's doctoral selection process, including research proposal and interview requirements.
