Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), Chennai is a prominent private business school established in 2004 by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Bala V. Balachandran. The institute focuses on creating business-ready professionals through experiential learning, global exposure, industry interaction and a curriculum incorporating emerging technologies.

Courses
PGDM: The flagship 2-year full-time PGDM is designed for graduates who want to build careers in management. The curriculum combines management fundamentals with emerging areas such as AI, Business Analytics, Digital Strategy, Finance, Marketing and Operations. Students participate in case studies, live projects, internships, experiential learning and the Karma-Yoga social leadership programme.
PGPM: The 1-year full-time PGPM is designed for candidates with 2+ years of work experience. It focuses heavily on career acceleration, consulting, technology, analytics, product management and leadership. The 2026 PGPM placement report shows recruitment across consulting, technology, analytics, healthcare, retail and financial services.
PGPM – Family Business & Entrepreneurship: A specialised one-year programme for candidates interested in entrepreneurship, family-business growth, innovation and business leadership. Great Lakes specifically encourages candidates with family-business backgrounds to apply.
Executive & Corporate Programmes: Great Lakes also provides executive education and corporate learning programmes for working professionals.
