Mohan Babu University (MBU) is a state-private university located at Sree Sainath Nagar, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. It was established by the Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust and carries forward the academic legacy of the Sree Vidyanikethan institutions. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across engineering, computing, commerce and management, pharmaceutical sciences, liberal arts and sciences, agriculture and allied health sciences.

MBU currently promotes 50+ programmes, a residential campus environment and more than 65 student clubs. The university also reports international academic collaborations with institutions including Penn State University, RWTH Aachen, Wayne State University and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Courses

Engineering & Technology: MBU offers B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Specialized options include AI & ML, Cyber Security, Data Science, AI & Data Science, DevOps, Cloud Computing, SAP/ABAP, Embedded Systems, Electric Vehicles, Digital Manufacturing, Building Construction and other industry-linked specializations. M.Tech programmes are also offered in areas such as Machine Design, VLSI & Embedded System Design, Construction Technology & Management and Electrical Power Systems.

Computer Applications: MBU offers BCA programmes in general and specialized areas including AI & Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security and Full Stack (MERN) Development. MCA is offered at postgraduate level, including lateral-entry options.

Commerce & Management: The School of Commerce and Management offers BBA, BBA with specialization in Certified Investment Banking Operations Professional, B.Com with Computer Applications, MBA, MBA with specialization in Certified Investment Banking Operations Professional and MBA Business Analytics.

Liberal Arts & Sciences: The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers B.Sc programmes in Computer Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics and Forensic Science, along with M.Sc programmes in Computer Science, Biotechnology and Organic Chemistry. The school also supports doctoral research programmes.

Pharmaceutical Sciences: MBU offers B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmaceutics, Pharm.D and Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate).

Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences: Programmes include BPT, B.Sc Optometry, B.Sc Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology, B.Sc Emergency Medicine & Critical Care Technology, B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology, B.Sc Cardiovascular Technology, B.Sc Radiology and Imaging Technology, B.Sc Respiratory Therapy and B.Sc Dialysis Technology. MPT is offered at postgraduate level with specializations including Neurology, Orthopaedics, Cardio Pulmonary and Sports.

Agriculture: The School of Agriculture offers B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, with practical exposure, research, agri-business projects, internships and industry-guided electives.

Design & Media: MBU's programme listings include B.Des in Fashion Design and B.J.M.C. in journalism and mass communication-related studies. 

Course Eligibility

B.Tech: Candidates generally require 10+2 with the relevant science subjects, particularly Physics and Mathematics for engineering programmes. Current admission information indicates minimum eligibility generally around 50–60%, depending on the programme, with MBUCET, JEE Main or AP EAMCET accepted for applicable engineering admissions.

B.Tech Lateral Entry: Candidates with a relevant diploma qualification can apply for lateral-entry B.Tech programmes, subject to the applicable admission requirements.

BCA: Candidates require 10+2 from a recognized board with approximately 50% marks under the currently published criteria. Specializations may have additional subject requirements.

BBA: Candidates require 10+2 with approximately 50% marks. The programme is available in general and specialized formats.

B.Com: Candidates require 10+2 with approximately 50% marks for the B.Com programme, with the current programme offered as Computer Applications/B.Com CA.

B.Sc: Eligibility generally requires 10+2 with approximately 50% marks, with science subjects required for relevant science and healthcare programmes.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture: Candidates require 10+2 with the prescribed agricultural/science eligibility requirements. The programme is offered by the School of Agriculture.

B.Pharm: Candidates require 10+2 with the prescribed science subjects and must satisfy the applicable pharmacy admission requirements.

BPT: Candidates require 10+2 with the relevant science subjects and must fulfil the university and applicable healthcare-programme eligibility requirements.

MBA: Candidates generally require graduation with around 50% marks. Admission may consider CAT/MAT or a university-level admission process depending on the programme.

MCA: Candidates require an appropriate bachelor's degree, generally with the prescribed computer science/mathematics background. MCA is also available through lateral entry for eligible candidates.
